Vino wins Liège-B-Liège in a nerve-racking final. The oldest one of the Ardennes Classics, the toughest one, the one Andy won last year. Liège – Bastogne – Liège a 268 km with 11 climbs. The race started at 10 o'clock this morning with 198 riders. With in the peloton some big names. Gilbert is in all the polls the big favorite. The Schleck brothers, Valverde, Evans, Contador are also on those list.YouTube DirektInterview with Andy Schleck before the start.How it unfold: The race began with a leading group of 7 riders: de Gendt, Bouet, Perez, Vaikkanen, Deveneijs,[url=http://www.motorcyclejacketmall.com/topichtml/belstaff-2012.html]belstaff 2012[/url], Terpstra and Finetto. Bellemakers joins the leading group after a hard chase of an hour. The leading group biggest gap was a maxima of 8 minutes.With 101 km to go the first one of the leading group has to let go. It's finite for Finetto. The peloton has a steady paste and a gap of 3.38 minutes. It's warm, 22 degrees, sunny and nearly no wind. To attack in these weather conditions it's suicidal. ?But that doesn't bothers Jens Voigt. Going down hill on theC?te du Wanne Voigt jumps away and makes a gap.On the Stockeu, Bouet is the next one of the leading group who has to let go. Back in the peloton there is a crash while going down hill. Gesink is one of the riders standing besides the road. Andy is in front of the peloton and stayed on his bike. With Caisse D'Epagne in the lead of the peloton the gap isn't getting any smaller, while Voigt is getting closer and closer to the leading group. Approaching the C?te du Rosier Bouet, who fought his way back to the leading group definitely has to let go now. Bouet is overtaken by Voigt and he picks up Vaikkanen, who dropped out of the leading group as well. But it wasn't meant to be.With Voigt back in the peloton the next attack took place. Montfort made a getaway and stayed away. He also got very close to the leading group but on the Mont – Theux the leading groups splits. The other of the group fall back into the arms of the peloton.It looks like the peloton gets nervous. Sevral riders try to attack but they can't stay away. The next hill is the legendary La Redoute. Just before the climb Deveneijns is overtaken by the peloton and everybody is back together again. La Redoute is the hill of Gilbert, his fan club is waiting here, and that is something you can not mis. More then 100 time a creative fan has painted Phil on the road. Will this help, will he attack here No… Agnoli goes in the attack and on the steep part of the hill Barrero goes after him. The third attack is from ten Dam, Martin follows him and I a short time there is a little group with: ten Dam, Agnoli, Martin and Garzelli. They join Barrero and take the lead. In a down hill bit, Tankink, Chavanel and Martinez made the jump to the first group.Tankink places an attack and stays away with Iganov chasing him. The rest of the group gets overtaken by the peloton.On the Roche aux Faucons (the spot Andy attacked last year) Ivanov gets overtaken by a little Saxo train. Fuglesang brings Andy in position. Andy goes and has Gilbert in his wheel. The two have a small gap. Andy greetz Tankink on his way up and Evans is leading the peloton up the hill. Contador makes a jump a gets to Andy and Gilbert. But the three can't stay away.Vino is the next one who places an attack, he stayed away. Gilbert jumps after him but Andy gets him back. Then Kolobnev goes and joins Vino.All the leaders have to work for themselves. Gilbert and Valverde went together and they soon were joined by Evans. Andy is back in the peloton. In the second group Valverde attacks, Gilbert reacts and jumps over Valverde. With the tarmac flying out of the road Gilbert is gone.In the last kilometers Vino and Kolobnev work together but Vino attacks in the final kilometer and Kolobnev who is more dead then alive can't follow him. Vino wins for the second time Liège – Bastogne – Liege.Gilbert, who is getting the consequents of his attack has no energy left and gets back with Valverde and Evans. With just behind them they can feel the breathing of Fr?nk Schleck leading a group with Andy in it. The three got to sprint to see who is going to be third. Well Valverde wins the sprint of this group and is in third place. Andy wins the sprint of his group and finished in 6th place.? Gilbert was 4th and Evans 5th.Well, the classics are over with no win for Andy. But I must say I enjoyed every second of it.
