One (rather expensive) option appears to be the Tunebug Shake (a Bluetooth turn-your-helmet-into-a-speaker gizmo); however, I'm hesitant to spend $120 on the device made by a business which does almost all their consumer promos with skater-style helmets and answer emails asking them questions about sound quality with vented helmets.
An alternative choice would be a water-bottle speaker (I commute having a Camelbak -- this is Austin, after all -- so either of those mounts are fine). Obvious bad thing is positioning -- my two water-bottle cages are below and behind my ears -- and several from the commercially available products are specific to Apple hardware (and the thought of buying a music player rather than using my existing Android-based phone smarts just a little).
I've got a Cy-fi. I not sure how loud it is to people other than me,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but my impression is that the audio is loud enough for a rider to hear, but not really loud enough for most of us to notice because the rider passes. (At least, I haven had anyone remark onto it, either positive or negative.) I travel everyday across town, I love to hear the traffic when its busy and I like my music to sound good on quieter stretches of road,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], all the in ear bud things just sounded rubbish. I am now really happy using some igrado on ear head phones.
They're completely open so about as antisocial as you can get on public transport,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they bleed sound its untrue, however its perfect about the bike because you can hear everything who are around you and also the music sounds great.
Took some getting use to though,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this guitar rock band goes round the back and clamp the ears quite tightly. The cord can also be one which hangs down infront rather than round the back from the neck which does cause some tangles sometimes.
When it comes to robustness, the quality is great,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but because they are open, they're quite exposed to the elements, to date so great however i only have been using them with the winter,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], snow, sleet but no driving rain. well see how it is going next year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], may also be a little sweety in summer though.
