Brigetta Barrett of the United State came in second at 2.00 and Ruth Beitia of Spain and Olympics gold medalist Anna Chicherova form Russia, tied for the bronze medal, making 1.97.Brianna Rollins of the United States took gold in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing in 12.44 seconds. Australian Sally Pearson, who won the event in the 2011 worlds and last year's Olympics, was second in 12.50 with the bronze medal going to Tiffany Porter of Great Britain in 12.55.Vitezslav Vesely of the Czech Republic won the javelin with a heave of 87.17 meters (285.99 feet), edging Finnish thrower Tero Pitkamaki, who took the silver at 87.07. Russia's Dmitri Tarabin was third at 86.23.The golds by Shkolina and the relay team gave Russia a total of seven firsts in the world championships, the most this year. The United States is second with six gold medals. Jamaica has four.The United States leads in overall medals with 20 (six gold, 11 silver, three bronze). Russia totals 15 medals and Kenya and Ethiopia each had 10.
